The City has identified a failed piece of infrastructure in the wastewater sewer system that has resulted in back-ups in some homes along 20A Street S.E. This piece of infrastructure needs to be replaced to ensure the reliability of the wastewater collection system in the area.

Construction will begin Thursday, October 12, 2023 and is expected to be complete Saturday, October 14, 2023. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

What work is being done?

The embankment is being built to facilitate the construction of the pedestrian tunnel at 72 Avenue S.E.

The traffic calming curbs along 18 Street and 66 Avenue SE in Lynnwood received a colourful update thanks to local artist Mike Hooves. 

This traffic calming infrastructure was installed earlier in the year thanks to the Millican Ogden Community Associations’ partnership with the Federation of Calgary Communities ActivateYYC Bump Outs and Parklets micro-grant program. Bump outs are designed to narrow intersections, calming traffic by making turning radii tighter for cars as well as shortening crossing distances for pedestrians.

George Moss Park in Ogden is getting an update to help better serve the community!

Some of the new park features include:

• An artistic sport court and game lines

• Updated playground and ice skating area

• A new plaza area

• Seating and picnic space

• Trees, greenery, and updated landscaping

This project was made possible thanks to the effort and support of Youth Centres of Calgary, GreenLine Calgary, Parks Foundation Calgary, the Millican Ogden Community Association, and countless other groups and individuals committed to enhancing this well-loved community asset.

The community of Ogden is hosting its Parade of Garage Sales event on Saturday July 29th from 9AM to 3PM. There are prizes to be won including gift cards and certificates from different businesses in and around the Ogden community.

Construction in Ogden is set to begin the week of July 26th, 2023 to prepare for the GreenLine. The embankment is being built to facilitate the construction of the vehicle tunnel at 78 Avenue SE

About this Project:

Before building the station and tracks, a pedestrian tunnel will be constructed near 72 Avenue SE, a vehicle tunnel will be built at 78 Avenue SE, and a portion of 78 Avenue SE will be upgraded. Once the tunnel at 78 Avenue SE. is complete and open to traffic, the vehicle crossing at 69 Avenue S.E. will be permanently closed. Calgary-based company, Graham Construction, has been selected to build this project.

In partnership with The City of Calgary and the Millican-Ogden Community Association, BC Orchards will launch a fresh produce stand in the community beginning Friday, June 16th, 2023

Going forward, on Friday from 1-6pm, stop by the MOCA parking lot (2110 69 Ave SE) and purchase fresh fruit and vegetables from BC and Alberta.
