Due to changes in land use by the property owner, the parking lot immediately adjacent to the Inglewood Aquatic Centre has been permanently closed
Following the City of Calgary’s decision in November 2024 to extend the life of the aquatic facility, discussions took place with the parking lot’s landowner. However, an agreement for the use of the parking lot was not renewed due to the landowner's future development plans.

Read MoreThe 4th Avenue Flyover will need to fully close temporarily to complete repairs sustained by a vehicular incident. A section of the bridge’s barriers and rails sustained damage in the incident and require repairs, however the bridge is still safe to use.
The bridge will fully close overnight for two days:
February 13th beginning at 9 pm until February 14th at 5 am, and
February 14th beginning at 9 pm, until February 15th at 5 am.
Interested community residents are invited to come out and learn more about the future Ramsay/Inglewood GreenLine Station design plans.
Stop by the Calgary Bridge Centre (1140 8 Street SE) on Wednesday, February 26th from 6 - 8pm. The presentation will begin at 6:15pm, followed by an opportunity for residents to ask questions of the GreenLine team.

In order to successfully complete this project, crews will have to close the righthand (south lane) of Memorial Drive eastbound between the Bridgeland C-train station and Baines Bridge (Zoo bridge). Traffic will be detoured to the centre and lefthand lane (north lane) for the duration of this work. It is anticipated that this work will take approximately six months to complete.

Due to this, the top two metres of this shaft will need to be demolished to bring it below normal ground elevation so we can eventually plant grass and restore its original look. Once this has been completed, there will be manholes and a curved pipe/vent called a “gooseneck,” along with paving stones in the area so crews have access for required maintenance.

Our gratitude goes out to the passionate community members who rallied to advocate for this outcome. While this decision is a temporary stopgap to the eventual end-of-life closure of the pool, we are committed to continuing to enjoy this facility while we have it, and keeping it operational for as long as funding allocated for repairs allows or until the expansion of the MNP Sports Centre expansion is complete, anticipated in 2027.
